Dubai Internet City is an information technology park that is a free economic zone. It was created in 2000 by the Government of Dubai and TECOM Investments. The zone is located in the Al Sufouh area, next to the Sheikh Zayed Road and close to the universities Knowledge Village Park and Dubai Media City. The park is home to more than 1,600 companies, including major global ICT players as well as SMEs. The surrounding area of the park is mainly home to high-rise buildings that offer residential and commercial properties, making it a popular destination for information technology professionals.
